A-spot orgasm: the best positions for this secret zone

A-spot

You might know the G-spot as one of the erogenous zones next to the clitoris. If you’ve read ‘Are you coming?’ you’ll know there are many more pleasure spots on a woman’s body.  The A-spot is one of them. In this article you can read what the A-spot is and what positions you can use to reach the A-spot orgasm more easily.

What is the A-spot?

A well-kept secret of the female body is the A-spot. Little is said or written about it, even though it was discovered by a Malaysian doctor in 1994. He came across a very sensitive area deep in the vagina (see image). The A-spot, also called anterior fornix, is located on the front of the vaginal wall and close to the cervix. The A-spot is an extension of the clitoris, but like many other orgasms, this orgasm feels very different. You can feel it from your toes to your crown. It can seem as if you step outside your body. Sounds great, right? Another advantage: where a clitoris quickly becomes ‘overloaded’ by all the attention, you can continue to stimulate an A-spot… even after an orgasm.

Positions for an A-spot orgasm

We can’t stress it enough: a fully aroused body is essential to cum. Especially with the A-spot orgasm. Since this hot spot is near your ultra-sensitive cervix, your vagina should be all set (moist, relaxed, and roomier) before you take action. Otherwise, looking for your anterior fornix can be painful. Take half an hour for maximum excitement: think of kissing, oral sex and hand work. A bit of lube doesn’t hurt either (but don’t let it be a substitute!).

Note: The A-spot is very sensitive. For some women, long-term stimulation is too intense or even painful. Again, start calmly, take your time and keep practicing. If it doesn’t work, it won’t work… enough other orgasms to discover. Like the 12 other orgasms in our orgasm guide.

A-spot position #1 Solo research

An important condition to reach the A-spot is a long device. You can try to stimulate the A-spot in two ways: with a (long!) penis or with a dildo. Fingers are actually too short to find this spot, but of course you can try. If you don’t have a partner at your disposal, you can just as easily try the A-sport orgasm. In any case, it is recommended to look for your A-spot by yourself. With a partner you are more often distracted and when you are alone you have plenty of time.

Insert a long toy with a slight curvature. The spot is deep in your vagina, above your cervix. So it can be a search before you start to feel something. Every woman has her own manual, so try out all kinds of movements: push gently, back and forth or make circles … Above all, stay relaxed and don’t get frustrated if you don’t feel anything. An A-spot orgasm will not happen on the first attempt, unfortunately, but you can go for a mixed orgasm by also massaging your clitoris with your other hand or a vibrator.

* If your bed partner is a woman, you can also perform these positions for the A-spot orgasm. Of course with the help of a toy! Make sure to use lube.

A-spot position #2 Against the door

Lean against the door while your partner takes you from behind. Spread your feet apart and push your butt back for good access. This position allows for deep penetration and that is exactly what you need for an A-spot orgasm.

A-spot position #3 With a pillow

Do you prefer to discover the A-spot orgasm lying down? This is possible with an alternative position on the Viennese Oyster. Lie on your back on the bed and make sure you put a thick pillow under your butt so that it can go deep. Throw your legs in the air, keep them there. Have him sit on his knees and slide deep inside. Let him thrust in different ways: long or short ‘fetches’.

A-spot position #4 Laid back cowgirl

Girl on top is an ideal position for deep penetration, which also makes it a suitable sex position to discover the A-spot orgasm. Lie down on the bed in the normal cowgirl position. Now let him lean on the bed on his hands. You also lean back and put your hands on the bed. By leaning back you ensure that his penis is at the front of the vagina: in the vicinity of the A-spot. Experiment with different movements to find out what you like. Move from front to back, up and down or make circles with your hips. You can also give him the reins: take off and let him move up and down with his hips. Just make sure he stays deep inside you to find the A-spot orgasm. If it hurts, you can slow down. Get more aroused (turn on a porna, for example) and use silicone lube (we’re a fan of Pjur!). And remember: practice makes perfect!

Be careful though, this is the position with the greatest chance of a penile fracture.
